Time registration

Time registration in all the different running disciplines of the Venloop 2011 will take place by means of the Chronotrack D-Tag. Participants who bought a ChampionChip via the Venloop during the 2007 to 2009 editions, will receive € 1.50 discount on their registration fee after filling in the chip code in the registration module.

The recyclable D-Tag is a weatherproof, flexible strip, which is attached to the running shoe. The D-Tag is stuck to your bib number so that you cannot forget it. The D-Tag is easy to attach and remove and has already been successfully used at various events at home and abroad. Renowned marathons such as the New York Marathon and the Rotterdam Marathon have already switched to this time registration system.

Gross time – net time
Official results are always based on gross time! Gross time starts at the moment when the starting gun is fired and stops at the moment when you cross the finish line. Net time is the time that starts at the moment when you cross the start line and stops when you cross the finish line. This net time is given as an extra service.

FAQ

  • Why is the D-Tag used for time registration?
The D-Tag’s biggest advantage for you as a runner is that this tag is a lot easier to use. The D-Tag is easy to attach and remove, bib issue is much faster, there is no complicated or time-consuming post-race tag turn-in, for the Tag does not have to be returned, so there are no fees either if you lose it.
  • Will the D-Tag stay adhered if it rains?
The Tag is weatherproof, so it can be used in all types of weather. However, you have to make sure that you attach the chip when the adhesive tab is dry and that the adhered part is placed under your laces.
  • Can I run with a chip/tag from another system?
Other chips/tags cannot be used as time registration in this race. The different systems use different techniques and for that reason are not interchangeable.
  • Do I have to return the D-Tag after the event?
The D-Tag is a “single-use” tag, so you don’t have to return it! However, the D-Tag can be recycled. You will be given the opportunity to turn in your D-Tag after you cross the finish line. Chronotrack Systems will then take care that that the D-Tag is recycled. If you wish, you can also send the D-Tag to: Finishtijd.nl, Postbus 181, 4201 AD, Gorinchem, the Netherlands. If you wish to throw the D-Tag away nevertheless, make sure you correctly dispose of it in a dustbin!
  • How do I make sure I have the right D-Tag?
Each D-Tag will be clearly marked with your bib number. This should correspond with your real physical bib number.
  • Can I also leave the D-Tag on my bib?
No, for optimal performance, the D-Tag must be attached to your shoe in the proper manner to make sure that your time is correctly registered. See the video and the instruction sheet.
  • How do I make sure that my D-Tag works?
Before you are issued with the D-tag, it has been checked 3x at least. The D-tag is always  “on” and, therefore, does not have to be activated.
  • Can I flatten and tuck the D-tag in my laces to make sure it stays?
No. This may cause damage to the D-Tag and may affect the readability of the D-Tag. For optimal performance, the D-Tag must be attached in accordance with the instructions.
